Volunteers

There are a wide range of opportunities within Sheffield Youth Justice Service for volunteers to gain experience, understanding and knowledge of the work within the YJS, help young people, and benefit the community as a whole.

Sheffield YJS is always looking for new volunteers and currently has over 60.  Our volunteers come forward for a variety of reasons including seeking a career change or  wanting to gain knowledge and experience to enhance their career prospects. Others may have retired and are looking to put something back into the community.  Our volunteers come from all backgrounds and walks of life and each bring their own special skills and attributes to the team and play a crucial role in preventing re-offending in Sheffield and safeguarding young people.
